this is from the 50s totally. 70s they has radios and tv and didnt have to go outside, in the 70s they are kids of the 40-50 parents who learned the same thing they spout here.. but kids were not forced the same as we were. when freesing cold in the snow it wasnt time to come in til> the sun was down..that was the hardest for me. the winters.. i didnt ski but did skate on the lakes or ponds with sticks sticking up in the ice. creatively making a contest and ability to wind our way without falling down. didnt want my kids to be like that.. but creativity was the best in good weather.. we did find things to do. no tv or anything else available in a small town.. or jump on your bike and ride 10 miles to the next town just to do it. happy days they were.

Grew up in the 70's and played outside ALL the time. I barely watched TV in high school because I had activities instead of a babysitter. This is generally true for anyone who grew up before 1990. They had TV and radio in the 60's and 50's.

i grew up in the 40s-present. not everyone had a portable radio or a tv in the 50s we were the first on the street that would be mid 50s. three stations and none during the day. for years and all black and white. we were excited.. small battery radios for we teens were the highlight as you could carry it. size of a cell phone now.. i didnt get one of those. got a bigger one with a plug option.. i was not happy. but it was made in USA. my dad the patriot, veteran.steadfast to his country. he knew things. was quiet. didnt brag. had reasons to tho. proud of him. secret work and never told ever. that was the WW2 vet.. all of them.. now we have all kinds sof responses. guess it made a difference what president you had while you were enlisted.. yeah i got off the topic but it important to realise.
