The USA INVENTED the #MoltenSaltReactor and ran it for several years in the 1960's.
The #MSR is the SAFEST and most EFFICIENT of ALL nuclear reactors (referred to as 'walk away safe'). MSR's can be fueled (and re-fueled while operating) using Thorium. The half-life of the spent fuel is around 200 years, as opposed to tens of thousands of years with typical nuclear power plants and their spent nuclear fuel. The USA has at least 4 times more Thorium than Uranium.
