I’m sitting pretty high on my pity pot tonight… I will apologize now… all of this occurred while I was full time state employee…
I have lived with my elderly parents for 20 years to help them out… 6 years ago both of them went down on their health issues with my dad having quadruple bypass copd/ emphysema and Parkinson’s with dementia… only a few weeks after dad had the heart surgery, my mom coded 2x on the way to the hospital in the ambulance and ended up having a pacemaker installed… 3-4 stage renal failure and chf…. Mom rebounded pretty good… but dad continued to decline and dementia started showing more… 3 years ago he fell and end up having a total hip replacement and had to be placed in a murder home… he lived 1 year… he was also double vaxxed with moderna… mom had done pretty well up until 6 months ago… I decided to retire early in April… I only got 1 week and mom ended up in the hospital, totally independent walking around the house and continent of her bathroom skills.

How much is one person really supposed to be able to endure along with all that work and worry… besides finally to just sit on a pity pot for a moment and hope that someone realizes how tough it has been? Even without everything else which you have not mentioned, it sure can be a lot. For all those other “normal” sounding days where the house just needs a this, or the car suddenly needs a that, or the coworker was coming in sideways, let me just tell you I think you have done a tremendous amount. By the grace of God you are still able to stand up and tell this story without one single curse word. You even started out apologizing to all of us for feeling some self-pity before you got to vent a little. This tells me you have a huge heart.
