If you believe even remotely that this is going to happen in the states you have sniffed too much glue. Seriously. The tech sector RUNs this country's economy. If you cut the US off from the rest of the world everything will go to shit, and that's not a metaphor.
Myanmar can do this because cutting off people is basically the only consequence of this move. In the US the fallout would be immense, and of a magnitude that can not be undone by just flicking the lever back on. If you really think this will happen, you must be mentally trapped in a post-WWII era or something.
