Age of Enlightenment @Sparrows

My dog tried sneaking past me with a fledgling baby sparrow in her mouth. I got her to put it down. And I brought it inside with me but even though it is fully feathered, only two little pieces of down on its head, and it watches me like a hawk, I can’t get it to eat. I don’t know the exact spot she found it at, but I can’t get close.

I believe the best thing is to get out there early in the morning & put it in a clear grassy area so the parents can see it.

Please advise whether this seems the best plan or not.

🙏

If he can't fly yet it might be a good idea to put it in a show box, open, no lid, with some leaves and things. Just thinking of some protection. Not sure though. Hopefully the parents will come back for it. Another idea is to call a local wildlife rehabber - they will know what to do.
