MBDA's new LCM - Land Cruise Missile
At the 2025 Paris Air Show, MBDA and the French Ministry of the Armed Forces showcased for the first time a scale model showing the launching unit for the "Land Cruise Missile" (LCM) project. We interviewied Pierre-Marie Belleau, Deep Strike Product Line Owner at MBDA and the Naval Cruise Missile (NCM) program director at DGA to find out more.

The LCM is based on the in-service NCM. The LCM project is being promoted by MBDA to offer Europe an alternative to the American Tomahawk in its ground-launched variant (Typhon / Mid Range Capability in use by the US Army).
The French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) is now involved in the project. It is preparing a demonstration launch at the DGA Missile Testing site in Landes in the 2028 timeframe, the culmination of an approach aimed at responding as quickly as possible to a growing need.
