Trump is right to be concerned about the security of the Panama Canal. Almost 25 years ago, Judicial Watch obtained 1998-9 intelligence reports about China's efforts to exert control in Panama.
The reports highlighted the involvement of the Hutchison Whampoa (now CK Hutchison Holdings) company.
The company is controlled by the family of Hong Kong billionaire Li-Ka Shing and operates ports on both side of the Canal.
