I half agree. Unfortunately I have family here who would chomp at the bit for it… and protest for free. Two aunts, who while on vacation together some years ago, stopped what they were doing to throw on pussy hats and partake in a local march for something or other. It makes them proud and preachy. I think they still believe we are in the nineteen-sixties and they have a feminist type of mission to fulfill. I am actually surprised that they are not booking four year cruises as we speak. I hope “moron” is not on the menu for Thanksgiving dinner, but then I always manage to muster this same degree of hope every year, knowing that my hopes can be shattered at the first side-eye of an opportunistic segway statement. It is predictable. I will be outnumbered, yet somewhat entertained to “know what I know” while trying to remain focused on the refilling of my coffee cup. Hope springs eternal that I can help them understand someday. Pragmatism tells me I cannot help them. Yet, I stand ready.
