When you think about it, those receiving a Death Sentence Conviction under the UCMJ would technically also be sentenced to Life In Prison Without Parole, even if that was just for a few days.

Yes, the LAWS OF WARFARE as outlined in the DOD LAW OF WARFARE MANUAL, which are internationally accepted Laws of War adhering to the Geneva Convention (GC), as well as Military Law under the UCMJ and Military Regulation are Superior to even our Federal Civilian Law, because we are AT WAR (THE WAR ON TERROR, AUMF 2001 - Authorization for Use of Military Force resolved by Congress) and the UCMJ also dates back to 1775 with the formation of the Continental Army, Navy & Marines (est. 1775) and that is all precedent and augmented by various Executive Orders and Emergency Declarations (also likely Presidential Emergency Action Documents - or PEADs, still classified) which are better outlined by Derek Johnson who has done an outstanding job researching and compiling these for all People to read and learn.
