I too am that way. Some people thought I was weird or dorky.

That describes me exactly. 😊 Highly intuitive people are called Old Souls. Sometimes it is frustrating that other people cannot sense the same things. It was however a great asset in my 50 year career as a nurse. I could sense when something was not right with my patients and take action. My colleagues would often say things like "how did you know that?" Early in my career I wondered why others could not sense these subtle changes that were so apparent to me. 😇
