TODAY is probably a great day, like all days, to go out and get stocked up on food, water & necessities just to be prepared for an EMERGENCY. Up to 30 days worth if possible. Rotate!
Dry & canned food. (Doesn't have to be expensive, think: rice, beans, pasta...)
Bottled spring water (NOT Nestle). Maybe a camping water filter.
Meds, pet food, whatever you need.
Fill those BBQ tanks to cook & boil.
Maybe even a small generator to power fridge/freezer (always run outdoors with extension cords) + spare fuel for that & vehicle safely stored in 5gal containers. Car's tank FULL.
Flashlights, batteries (cheap solar landscape lights work great)
Camping gear if you got it. Handy.
Ready important valuables in case of evacuation, what U can carry.
Some cash.
Your preferred form of Self Defense.
Maybe a CB or Ham Radio (CBs at truck stops for about $300)
Have a plan to get loved ones together if communications go down, KNOW where loved ones are 24/7.
BE PREPARED not scared.

If you think something is going down, scrub out the bathtub now so you can run it full of water if needed and if you did not do that in time, the toilet tank does hold some reasonably clean water in an emergency. Freeze extra trays or odd plastic containers of ice too if you have room.
I have no idea what all could be going on, but I also keep a can or two of 20ft bug spray handy in some odd places, which would at least be tough on the eyes and mouth of an intruder, and it may buy time while you are locating your pepper spray (or in an enclosed space and not quite prepared to use the stuff that makes you and your pets cough and cry). This is not fear, just thinking through some summer of love thoughts I once had. I think the Home Alone movies had some fun ideas too π

Here's a true story for you.
Had a friend's daughter who couldn't legally own a firearm, so Dad set her up with Bear Spray. One night, a nasty ex-boyfriend broke into her apartment, jumped on her while she was in bed, started choking her (obviously intended to do her in) and during the struggle she grabbed the Bear Spray that Dad told her to keep on her nightstand AND SHOT THE GUY A FULL PRESSURE DOSE RIGHT INTO HIS MOUTH. πππ
Needless to say he ran out the apartment gasping for breath, probably puking his guts out for days and she never saw him again! πππ Learned his lesson - DON'T MESS WITH MAMA BEAR! π Probably mentally scarred him for life! π Even the Cops & EMS were High-5ing her!
Hornet spray works too, but I hear they have to go to the ER for an antidote... but who cares.
Personally, I think all Americans need to be real comfy in their basements, especially in these unusual times. πΊπΈ
PS- Line that bathtub with a plastic drop cloth, won't go empty!

I have posted this several times over the last 3 years I have been on here to help people prepare. To those that have missed it, we don't have a year left but try to get everything @ol_cowboy has mentioned and use this chart as a guideline also. Last week I have told everyone I know to prepare NOW! IF you can, try to get extra to help the elderly that are struggling.
