I totally agree with you, Kat. 💯 People should NOT be scared and NOT worry.
I also live by the motto, "Plan for the worst and hope for the best." (I was a First Responder in my younger years, back in the steam age. 😂) Whatever is coming it will likely test us all to some degree. Preparations will help people be more comfortable. Being more self-sufficient also frees up resources of the Military, Law Enforcement & EMS to help others more acutely in need than ourselves (such as the elderly & poor, etc). Depending on location (and there will be some areas more affected than others just as Juan says) Folks might experience short power outages, but maybe for reasons that Good Guys have a job to do. Communications & Internet might go out temporarily by area (+ blackout?), so everyone should have advance plans to get loved ones together, maybe hunker down for a bit. Prepared Folks are also better equipped to help others - HELPING IS FUN - starting w/family & neighbors. 👍
