My brother and I had measles when we were children.
Very sick for 3 weeks.
My mother knew, even back then, that measles could cause blindness.
The precaution she took was that she covered the windows and basically, we lived in darkness for 3 weeks.
I don't know if this saved our eyesight or if Mom's precautions would be a good idea now.
