This is a false claim. As a citizen of Hawaii for 70 years you should know that citizens have always used fireworks on Jan 1, Jul 4, and Chinese new year in Feb. Always. We still do. The Hawaii gov merely stopped funding their public fireworks events on those days. They were allowed to shoot aerials. Aerials have been outlawed for decades for individuals but have always been used anyways. There are no police patrols against aerials. This post misrepresents reality in Hawaii (not Hawaiian, which means Native Hawaiians and no one can claim their status here).
