My high school had a few large buildings on the edge of campus for mechanical/automotive, woodworking, carpentry, and electrical skills workshops. Also agriculture. The Ag program had a large fenced in field for growing crops.
It was very popular and probably kept many of those students from dropping out of school.
They could graduate with pride and have a good job waiting for them on the outside.
I don't know why or when those programs were cut.
Democrats.

πβ€οΈπ€ποΈThey should actually start these kind of courses around 9th grade, and let them use that as high school credit. So that way they are ready to start their career immediately after graduation or even before, and will be certified to boot. There is no reason to take algebra, geometry, biology, chemistry, etc. unless you are going to go into something, that requires those studies. They need to break away from the normal schooling and actually teach you for the trade or career you want to go into. We were taught all wrong in our way of thinking growing up about education. It should totally be revamped from top to bottom.πβ€οΈπ€ποΈ
