Popular acid reflux medicine linked to higher risk of dementia: study
Long-term use of popular acid reflux drugs has been linked to a higher risk of dementia, according to a new study published by the American Academy of Neurology.

I remember when prilosec first came out. I was friends with a pharmacuetical sales person. This was 20+ some years ago when we still all drank like fish. She would hand out samples of this product and would tell everyone this was great for hangovers too. There was a time when I would eat loads of this like candy before we would go out. Strange thing started happening after a few months of doing this, i started developing acid reflux!! The very thing it was supposed to "cure" I quit taking it of course, haven't touched it since. Lesson learned: don't trust a snake/oil salesperson even if it is/was a friend.
