why work there to begin with?

Many people invested a lot of hard work, time, education, and training for their career. They sacrificed and went without while others were getting paychecks, accumulating things, partying, taking trips, buying houses, and starting families. They have tolerated verbal and physical abuse, condescension, exhaustion, and many other things because they believed in what they were doing and wanted to serve humanity. They were also betrayed. This includes nurses, doctors, scientists, health workers, clinical workers, researchers, and a whole spectrum of people that did not participate in the attempted hijacking of humanity, no matter how simple that narrative may be. They should not be forced to walk away and re-invent themselves, rather the abusers should be removed. We know who they are. I truly hope they will get a day to share what they know when their safety is guaranteed.
