You can tell where it is influencing the natural balance when the bugs all disappear. Two years ago drove fro Colorado to Arkansas, spent a month camping in Arkansas driving around while there, and then back home to Colorado. I never washed the truck the whole time, and when I was home washing it, there maybe were 50-100 scattered bugs on the front of my truck were all that were there. In 1985, you had to pull over every few hours and use a gas station squeegee as you'd literally run out of fluid spraying the sheet of dead bugs' guts off especially traveling at night. The bugs are GONE now, and with them, the birds and amphibians populations died down too.
