This was also just them pissing on the opposition - like scent marking territory... the dragging of a carcass behind the chariot... their true natures revealed, like sticking 2 fingers up at the opposition (the English at Agincourt cut two fingers off the captured French archers, to ensure they were no longer a threat - then taunted them thus.

At times I feel like the main character running between the stopped cars, "THEY'RE HERE!"
The ending is somewhat positive, as evidence crops up that convinces people in positions to do something about it, that he is telling the truth.
However, no method of fighting back is proposed in the movie, just the realization that humanity is being taken over.

Yes, that removal of their communication routes is vital.
In war, you isolate the enemy, remove communication, and close access routes off, as soon as possible.
I hope the war is won in my lifetime... I do not want to come back and do this again. Once in a multitude of lifetimes, is enough, I think! 😁
Of course, if time is not linear, but everything is happening simultaneously, all the time, then, assuming Looking Glass can view selected moments in time, then this would indeed be over.
However, our linear experience of time (past and future - because the second you identify the present it is already the past), means we do have to slog into a future without any idea when this psychological war will be over, definitely a test of ones fortitude - or - stubbornness!
