Bud made a HUGE mistake.
They apparently did not get the memo that the number of crazy libs in America was a fictional number propagated by their own ppl.
Guess what sobs we real Americans outnumber the evils now about 10,000 to 1!
Any other companies want to destroy their stock holders???

Been doing hunting for some years, so I've no need to buy meat.
It's the rest of the stuff that's the issue for me - need to establish connections to farmer's market to get those vegetables.
I guess I could buy some more land too. Plenty of other activities would follow from that.

Yes, but you can do so too. Try joining local hunting club, or the club of a municipality where someone of your family lives in. This option is available for everybody even in Europe.
You could go ask farmers during the harvest season if they could reserve some of their produce to you - chances are that they'll agree because they'll get a better price from you than from large market chains. Chances are that it'll still be notably cheaper than the market prices.
You can store a larger bunch of vegetables in a dark and cold place (no need for a freezer), or just can some of them like they used to do in the early 1900s. Typical preservation of berries was turning them in to jams. Drying is also one of those ways.
Many times there are options available. This bit is all about people connections and likely one of the reasons why Q said organize
