Bancel admitted all this during a recent panel discussion at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Davos 2023 meeting in Switzerland. When asked about the development, adoption, and scaling up of the covid jab for different variants and subvariants, Bancel responded with: “When the pandemic happened Moderna made 100,000 doses in 2019 for the whole year. And I remember walking after that into the office of Moderna manufacturing and I say: ‘How about we make a billion doses next year?’
Moderna knew how to produce these injections for a “disease” that had not yet fully emerged on the global stage.
