Sure miss mine, was small as a bird, she lived through the depression on a small dried-up farm half starved. Her mother (delivered all her 5 kids at home alone! 🤪!!!!! ) my great-grandmother, was the youngest of 13 children on a Kanas prairie sod house farm so it was inherited. My Great G-Ma's favorite pieces of chicken her whole life, were the back and neck as being the lil'est one on the farm back then it was most often what was left to her growing up. She really seriously "set them aside" for herself when cooking! Used to work for hours as a kid and she'd give me like $2! But to her old-fashioned heart, it was like $50 from her time. Toughest human I ever knew, I'd put her and a wooden spoon against Godzilla and I bet she wouldn't even drop the filterless Pall Mall from her lips the whole fight!

The only Gma I knew was on my dad's side. Short Spanish lady that was ornery and mean at times. She knew her stuff, had 5 kids? She was not a lady to be messed with. Gave solid spankings. Could give you that look and you better stop! She would raise chickens and rabbits and kill them herself, and then cook up some real interesting dishes. Toughest person I ever knew. She also made me some handmade dollies and doilies. She loved to knit and crochet.
