You should be completely egotistical about your own body. Don't fall in front of that bus, it will hurt! But you should have zero ego in your mind; beliefs are not part of you, so don't need protecting. Exhortations to not have an ego are unhealthy, as ego serves a purpose. It just has to be located and sized correctly.
