She *really* didn't like me taking a picture — but it wasn't going to show any faces and it is a public place, so I don't see a problem.

IN Japan back in the day modeling and doing like outside promo stuff for whatever company, they had some extra long lenses, not the folks on the job, outsiders, around, and we were told to avoid them taking pics as they transposed american faces on some scummy japanese porn, I always flipped them off. IN her case, probably just a mama bear, wondering what was up.
