Sadly, my husband's mother is a huge Pelosi fan but it is rather understandable when you realize that Mary was a year behind Nancy D'Alesandro at The Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore and was a friend of hers as a girl.

This is awful. I lived in Scotland for nearly 7 years during my post-grad studies and found the UK to be remarkably self-sufficient making many things still on it's own soil unlike America where we'd been throwing our industrial jobs to China and Mexico for years...

I was living here as a child when they put in the DC Metro (subway) and that would have been the perfect time to initiate DUMB construction in the metro DC area - back in the early 70s.
