I do know that his sister, Ann Richardson Haggard, who was the KY Gov's private secretary DID die at age 33 (odd eh) in 1940 from cancer. Now she was indeed a heavy smoker but the thing is, how many people lost a sibling at age 33 to cancer in 1940? I don't know how widespread it was but it would not be hard for a chemical engineer working with Dow to get ahold of something nasty I would think...
Now I really wonder what her death was caused from and not what the family has thought all these decades.
