Built from 24 tons of steel from the fallen towers of 9/11. Notice the Twin Towers. Today, the USS New York (LPD-21) is one of the most state-of-the-art amphibious warships in the Navy’s fleet.
It is manned by a crew of 360 sailors and three permanently assigned Marines. Her motto is “Strength Forged Through Sacrifice – Never Forget.”

Google it The USS New York was built using 24 tonnes of scrap steel from the World Trade Centre, which collapsed during the 911 terror attacks in 2001. It was designed to carry a crew of 360 sailors, with 700 combat-ready Marines who could be left at shores by helicopters and assault ships.

Don't get me wrong I believe the story. I just don't know which is worse. Walking on someones gravesite or shipping all the steel to China so they can't analyze the evidence. Speaking from a spouse of a 911 survivor.
