Built from 24 tons of steel from the fallen towers of 9/11. Notice the Twin Towers. Today, the USS New York (LPD-21) is one of the most state-of-the-art amphibious warships in the Navyβs fleet.
It is manned by a crew of 360 sailors and three permanently assigned Marines. Her motto is βStrength Forged Through Sacrifice β Never Forget.β
