Repentance and loving one another is the armor of God.

The Bible says the Lord is our righteousness, none of us is righteous only God.

I shared this to show that the Armor of God was more than repentance and loving one another in respose to the post above. However, God does expect us to try to be righteous, Matthew 5:48.

Jesus said clearly that His two greatest commandments are: love God above all else and love the neighbor as the self, in these two rest all of the law and the prophets. Paul wrote the letter to the Ephesians. Each point in the armor of God writing contains within it the need to acknowledge and repent of our sins. Jesus ceaselessly saves and forgives us because we never cease sinning and that is why He gave us a conscience to help us feel when we sin and repent. This is an ongoing process until we are lifted from the earth to His Kingdom. If we believe His saving us is a one time operation we miss the point of having a conscience. “Love one another as I have loved you.” This is our daily work and it isn’t easy in many cases as people too often hurt each other. ‘Love your enemies, bless those who curse you and pray for those who abuse you.” The world and hearts change when these are sincerely done by God’s people.
