'Q' is a label with denotational semantics (a label for a consistent data feed that cannot be impersonated) and operational semantics (posts to the chans). It is constructed not (at this level) to have intentional semantics. So the media cannot refer to Q at all! They HAVE to construct a parallel idea of 'QAnon' into which they can pour their 'extremist dangerous insurrectionist cult' intentional semantic nonsense.
