The power handshake move is interesting. If he did it to a sick vet, say, it would look controlling and mean. But with those in positions of (rival) power it’s necessary to establish who is top dog. The other party unconsciously defers by accepting the gestures of dominance/submission (like touching elbow, second hand on top). All IMO - no expert on this!
