Why cut ANY trees?
Hemp makes a most excellent paper which lasts a LONG time; that's why they used it for our Constitution.
Besides hemp, we have water hyacinth, which is a horrible, expensive problem clogging up our rivers & streams & lakes. Water hyacinth also makes a lovely paper.
WHY aren't we using these resources & saving money?

Yepper. It can decontaminate land from heavy metals or even petroleum contamination... But, of course, you dispose of the plants after & don't plow them in.
I'm hoping to bring up some deeper minerals & in general improve the soil. Goats & pigs will eat hemp plants, so after they've bloomed, I can turn them in on it & fatten them up... and get that green material "composted" by my mobile manure makers.
A total win-win.
