Oil would be trading at market price whether the United States was energy independent or dependent as we are now. The difference if we were independent would be that many people would be working for a decent wage ,the economy would be much better and we wouldn't be begging ,Russia,Saudi Arabia and Venezuela for oil. Also Biden couldn't as easily get away with draining the Strategic Reserves.
