So, as I reflect on what my own ancestors did to take our country away from the native Americans it makes me feel very ashamed. No, I did not do that, but to realize that our ancestors did it is disgraceful. Every single human being born to this earth is born with a choice to do good or evil - dark or light. Each of us surely has the capacity to commit horrible sins against nature and our own fellow humans. Each of us also has the capacity to resist evil (love of money is the ROOT OF ALL EVIL). To rise above the compulsion to conquer and to instead to seek to heal, to feed and take care of those less fortunate than we. Just as Eve (and Adam) chose to take the forbidden fruit, we all face the same choices every single day. We may not know it, but those choices are what defines who we really are.
