As I'm looking up these DOD funded laboratories on Google Maps, I have to say that they are all in very densely populated urban areas, surrounded by Hospitals and residential apartment buildings. I doubt they have been taken out this early in the battle, unless it was done by small quiet forces who took control, rather than destroying the buildings.
