I am still surprised that I am surprised when a friend who knows quite a bit asks why I am "still so positive", or when I hear 2nd hand that they would prefer talking about "normal things"... in those moments my heart sinks a little under the returning shadow of isolation, the realization of not being seen nor understood. Having laser vision has developed my empathy and resilience as friendships continue to drop like dead leaves.
