Maxwell to Spend 60th Birthday Behind Bars after Jury Calls for Christmas Break
Ghislaine Maxwell will now spend her Christmas Day 60th birthday alone in a prison cell, after the jury in her sex-trafficking trial requested more time to deliberate.
Her lawyers have lodged complaints about the conditions of her cell, claiming she has been deprived of food, is plagued by rats and has a flashlight shone in her cell every 15 mins.
Judge Alison Nathan ordered all court attendants to wear N-95 or K-95 face masks when the jury returns on Dec 27 as COVID ravages New York.
