John F. Kennedy Jr.'s Baptism Day

Little John was christened when he was 13 days old, in the Georgetown University Hospital chapel, in D.C. His godparents were Charles L. and Martha Bartlett. Charles was a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist -- and had thrown a dinner party where JFK and Jacqueline first met.

JFK Jr. was born about three weeks early on November 25, 1960, at 12:22 a.m., and weighed only 6 pounds, 3 ounces. He had respiratory problems and as soon as he was born, they had to insert a tube into his trachea and blow air into his lungs to get him to breathe.

Later in December, "Life" magazine featured his baptism on the cover.
