It's wrong. People need to understand this already. It's wrong, so stop spreading this stupid myth.
These numbers are for missing child reports. Reports! Not missing children. Missing children reports.
Of these reports, almost all are resolved within a couple days, the majority within 48 hours. Almost all without the kids being harmed.
A few examples:
Canada: 76% of missing children/youth reports (male and female) are runaways.
58% of missing children/youth reports were removed within 24 hours, while 91% were removed within a week.
German: 114k hotline calls, 60k missing reports, 99% being resolved with the kids unharmed.
US: 460k missing reports for juveniles. 634,908 new reports filed. 634,742 reports cleared. Leaving a difference of 166 reports.
So, please if you have any human decency, stop spreading misinformation so we can focus on real problems.
