The ones that do think he is alive can give you about 300+ examples of why it would be the case.

This is why Assange must eventually be freed. The Hillary emails is what woke up most of us (at least in my case) in 2016. I don’t know if he is being “protected” by keeping him imprisoned, but DJT would never have gotten so much support if her emails and pizzagate weren’t released.
