Has anyone seen the moon lately?

Not the past couple of nights. Took these last week.

I haven't seen the moon at all in the past 5 days ... since I've made it a priority to see it. True, some clouds from the Florida hurricane ... but these are distinct photos.
I'm on the Mid Atlantic region, where are you and what camera are you using?

I’m in Arizona and I used a Canon Powershot SX540.

Don't you find it odd that we never see the backside of the moon. It seems to be held in place showing only one side. Odd since the earth rotates in its orbit, why not the moon?

Very strange, indeed. I went to school in Romania and we were actually taught that the moon rotates around its axis, too, just like the earth. We were taught a lot of things that aren’t told in American schools and vice versa.
