With cell phones going to 5G which operates between 28 GHz to 39 GHz compared to 4G which operated at 700 MHz to 2,500 MHz there is a substaintial increase in distance and performance. I may have shown you this before of people after being vaccinated being exposed to 5G and they mentally froze.

Long waves travel farther than short waves, the length of a wave is basically how many oscillations per second. so no 5 G needs more repeaters to travel long distances where and 3 g can travel quite a bit further
