In 1989, the American Academy of Pediatrics, as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) educational and philanthropic organization, established its Friends of Children Fund, the Academy's Annual Fund. Contributions to the Friends of Children Fund enable the AAP to support high priority activities, respond to emerging child health issues and continually generate new knowledge about the best way to care for children.
