I was in the same boat for crypto. I found an app called Coinsquare and was able to make an etransfer though it.

I'm in Canada. Buying crypto directly with a credit card is impossible for me. RBC won't allow it.

Open up a Newton coin account, they have XRP and XLM which are gold and silver backed. Etransfers take between 5-30 minutes.
