Going from memory I believe that this video stated that the show Altered Carbon was a show, that a person who wanted to understand more should watch to gain that knowledge, not that they were stating that they agreed with it.

So in this CES (Consumer Electronics Show) video I get the impression that these people are actors, and are playing roles as if they are characters in the series, promoting things that fall in line with the content of the show.

In other words this is setup for fans of the show to get the experience of being in the show, it is a promotional tool not to be taken seriously.
