This week we Irish celebrate the life of Saint Patrick. On the 17th. He is said to have converted the Irish from paganism to Christianity. Legend has it that he drove all the snakes out of Ireland. This was likely symbolic of ridding the country of it's polytheistic ancient religious practices.
