Mom used whatever she had in her hand. A banana peel, wooden or other utencil. Dad used the belt. He would take it off and fold it and snap it. The 6 of us would try and hide. It didn't work.

With my children my preference was a wooden spoon. I lined the youngest four up. I was going to spank them with a belt. 2 boys and 2 girls ...pre teens all fighting Enough was Enough. They saw the belt and laughed at me. Apparantly I didnt spank hard with a belt. So I got angry and walked away. I went in my room and grabbed a big stuffed animal. I practiced. It was all in the wrist
