Why they havent quietly been putting terminal patients in them all this time is beyond me. Having means to save life and not doing it is kinda hard for me to process, but there MUST be a reason for it.

I struggle with this very same thought, maybe when they are disclosed finally, showing the people that those they held so dear could have been saved if evil did not rule the world..
