All my children were breast feed for longer then average time, tho I did (out of curiosity) try a bottle once with each of them with expressed Brst-milk, but bottles, thankfully, were non starters for all 3 of mine.
My daughter was just 19mths old when she watched her brother being born, and Now she's is a mother of 5, and teacher/lecturer at University, on Midwifery, so Baby Health is her specialty subject, one could say😄, BFd all hers of course. and helps mothers who need it.
Breast is best always... 'if' at all possible.

you were far beyond what the US was. in the late 60s when i had my kids natural birth was not quite there. lamaze was for the weirdos i guess. in a large womans hosp you had to take the lamaze classes to get the option for being in one room to birth in...ONE room! i dont know if any one every got it..i was in a room of about 6 people. almost had him right there..then rushed to a delivery room with spinal that i didnt ask for, forceps i didnt need (5-5 baby?) and then because so small and obvious intrauterine growth issues and old meconium filled uterus went to ICU. he screamed himself out of that place in 24 hours. i didnt get to hold him for 36 hours!! horror. i thought he was dead.. if i didnt know better i probably wouldnt have had any more kids.. but luckily i did know better. i became a lamaze instructor, breast feeding instructor and worked in OB from pregnancy clinic to post partum.the most passionate job one could have. i excelled and grew spiritually as a result..

Actually we lived in California in the 60's where one of my brothers was a Home Birth.
My Chiropractic father new many well informed natural health doctors & my mum knew lots of health hints from her wise English mum.
I've never even heard of 'Lamaze'. And what you're describing about hospitals sounds very confusing in a scary way..😳. unhelpful to mother = unhelpful to new born babes😟, my babies never left my side while in hospital, made sure I was in and out as soon as pos', I even signed to discharge myself after my first birth (early 80's), I'd lost a lot of blood and was told I really Needed a transfusion, my partner and I said NO Way, I signed quickly and left against their advice, and was perfectly OK at home😊.

your daughter sounds like me. congrats to her... during those delivery days i did learn how stupid the docs were.. most considered breast milk poison...essentially...weve come a long way. but that breast milk thing has to win..even nurses are feeding their babies this poison. what is wrong with them????????
