Costco’s rotisserie chicken with “no preservatives” found with sodium phosphate, carrageenan and 11 other additives

- Lawsuit in Jan 2026 for falsely advertising "no preservatives" — did not remove the ingredients

- $450M factory in Nebraska processes 2 million birds/week across 520 barns

- Undercover footage showed birds collapsing, ammonia burns, piles of dead chickens

- Fed corn and soy (90%+ GMO) — omega-6:3 ratios hit 15:1 vs. ideal 1:1

- Carcasses rinsed in chlorine (50 ppm) or peracetic acid (200 ppm)

- Only 40% from Costco's own air-chilled plant, rest likely water-chilled in chlorinated baths

- Injected with sodium phosphate and carrageenan

- High phosphate stresses kidneys — 37 million Americans have CKD

- Carrageenan linked to leaky gut

- Failed federal salmonella standards 92% of the time since 2019

- Packed hot in PET plastic that leaches antimony, microplastics, and acetaldehyde

- Heat + chicken fat accelerates leaching
