Would be nice if parents/families with loved ones affected by an addiction & mental health crisis comorbidity their opinion on what should be done, not just dole out monies to Narcan for opiods & approving 29 state Medicaid demonstrations to improve access to opioid use disorder treatment, including new flexibility to cover inpatient & residential treatment. What about Meth/Fentanyl users where’s the help financially for their inpatient & residential treatment? HHS centers were distributed $1 billion in grants for addiction prevention & treatment, which are not reaching those who fail to see they are ill. Inpatient therapy is so critical. His Administration is working to prevent drug use before it starts, strengthen treatment that leads to long-term recovery, & advance research & data to support effective drug control strategies is good but include all drug classes. It’s not the easy fix of using Medicaid & keep them crippled to the system it’s very deep and multifaceted.
